Winter Safaris

Experience the sublime tranquility of Jackson Hole’s winter season.

Winter in Grand Teton National Park is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Thanks to fewer people visiting the park, sounds are more audible and the long winter nights shine especially bright. With bears back in hibernation, many other animals have migrated to their wintering grounds. Elk, bighorn sheep, and wolves all migrate onto the National Elk Refuge, among other animals, while moose are frequently spotted throughout the season. With snow covering the ground, as well as the sagebrush, coyotes and foxes are often seen as well. Thanks to early sunset times, the night sky shimmers extra long, revealing gorgeous constellations and galactic features. Our expert guides are eager to share with you just how magical the valley of Jackson Hole can be in the winter!
